On the occasion of the International Day of La Francophonie, celebrated annually on 20th of March, the French Language Club of "Nicolae Bălcescu" Land Forces Academy of Sibiu welcomed two distinguished guests representing the Francophone world from different cultural backgrounds—Canada and France: Eric Normand, from the Multinational Division South-East Headquarters, and Marion Brisseau, French language lecturer and representative of L'Association AGIRabcd.
The event featured presentations on Romania's relations with the Francophone community, the global diversity of the French language, and the differences between Québec French and Metropolitan French. Participants also explored topics such as identity, leadership, and the importance of intercultural competencies.
The meeting aimed to highlight the role of the French language in international communication while encouraging cadets to further develop their interest in studying French as a valuable tool for professional and intercultural engagement.
