Project’s coordinator: Military Academy in Lisbon, Portugal;

Project’s partner institutions:

1. „Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy in Sibiu
2. University of Turin (Universita degli Studii di Torino), Italy
3. „Vasil Levski” National Military University, Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

Project’s duration: 30 months (28.12.2020 – 28.06.2023);

The main objective of the project is to develop a model of gender military studies, to be used in the partner institutions in the project, and later in the military institutions in Europe. Namely, it is desired to develop a handbook of military studies on gender issues, to be implemented in European military academies. This training system will ensure the promotion of the necessary social, civic, intercultural and interdisciplinary skills, improve the institutional perspectives of gender equality roles and establish the background that will allow a smoother integration of gender military studies in the educational offer of partner military academies in the project.

To achieve this objective, the partner institutions will carry out the following types of activities:

- applying a questionnaire and interviews with students and staff from each partner institution, regarding their views, and experiences with gender issues in the institutions from which they come; - creating a Military Gender Studies module and developing a handbook to address gender issues in military institutions. Through the handbook it is desired to implement a set of common contents that will be taught, initially, in each partner institution, as part of their own curricula; - setting up workshops with students, using the handbook, as well as intensive training sessions to train specialists who will later teach gender elements in the curricula of each military academy that will implement the module in their offer educational.
