Opening of the academic year at the Land Forces Academy
Monday, October 1, at 10 o’clock, the opening ceremony of the 2018-2019 academic year took place at the Land Forces Academy. The event started with the welcome of BG Dorin Blaiu, Commander of the Terrestrial Operational Component and Deputy Chief of the Land Forces Staff, by the Rector of the Academy, BG Prof. Eng. Ghita Barsan PhD, and continued with the religious service, the addresses of the rector of the academy, the first-year students' representative and of the guests present at the event. At the end of the festivity, the students’ anthem "Gaudeamus" was sung, and the cadets and military staff paraded to the rhythm of the military band of Sibiu garrison.
The event was attended by commanders of the national defense system structures, as well as by local public authorities, former rectors of the institution, representatives of the cults, parents, relatives and friends of the academy students.
Starting with 1 o’clock p.m., a similar ceremony was held at the Big Square of Sibiu, where members of our academic community joined the "Lucian Blaga" University in order to celebrate the start of the new academic year together.
