"The Knowledge-Based Organization" and awards at the Land Forces Academy
The XXIVth International Scientific Conference "The Knowledge-Based Organization" (KBO) 2018 took place from the 14th to 16th of June at the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy of Sibiu. 226 authors from higher education institutions and research centers from Romania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Hungary and Estonia enrolled in this year's edition, drawing up a total of 161 papers.
On Friday, 15th of June, following the decision of the University Senate of the Land Forces Academy, within the opening ceremony of the conference the title of "Honorary Senator" was awarded to outstanding personalities that have contributed to the prestige of our institution. The titles were handed to Prof. Sabin Luca, PhD, manager of the Brukenthal National Museum, Assist. Prof. Silviu Borş, PhD, manager of the Astra County Library and to Assoc. Prof. Alexandru Dan Smarandache, PhD, of the "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu. As a sign of appreciation for the high professionalism and special support given to the Land Forces, Col. (r) prof. eng. Vasile Nastasescu, PhD, was awarded the Emblem of Honor of the Land Forces.
Also, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Federal Republic of Germany, the writer of Sibiu origin and journalist Emil Hurezeanu received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy. His Excellency, Emil Hurezeanu, a native of Sibiu and a distinguished friend of the academy, definitively put his mark on the projects and events he initiated and in which he actively took part within the national and international academic circuit, whose member the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy is.
At the end of the event, the "Gura Izvorului" ensemble from Vatra Moldovitei held an artistic moment for the excitement of those present.
KBO offers teachers, specialists, researchers and practitioners the opportunity to meet, disseminate the knowledge and results of scientific research, exchange ideas on a wide range of subjects that fall under the topics related to the knowledge-based organization.
