The Land Forces Academy at the "Non-Common Winter Training Camp Morocco 2019"

A delegation of the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy of Sibiu, consisting of two students and coordinated by Col. Catalin Giurgiu, attended the "Non-Common Winter Training Camp Morocco 2019" winter training module in the vicinity of Errachidia, Morocco, at the end of January. The Winter Training Camp was organized by the Royal Military Academy of Brussels. It was the first time that Erasmus + Military students participated. The event was attended by 53 military students from nine countries: Belgium, Romania, the Netherlands, Poland, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Luxembourg and Niger.

The students underwent a very intense training program under special weather conditions specific to the Sahara desert, with temperature differences of 15-20° C between day and night, thus having the opportunity to demonstrate on the one hand, fighter and leader skills, and, on the other hand, the ability to withstand physical and mental effort, under conditions close to the reality of the battlefield.

The training program consisted of daily 12-15-kilometre marches, the students having to wear their combat equipment, and culminating with a 36- kilometre march on an arid surface, where the sharp stones of the hamadas only increased the difficulty degree of the test. SEMPER UNA!
