LFA Students on the Occasion of Celebrating 40 Years Since the Space Flight of Lt.gl. (ret.) eng. Dumitru Prunariu, PhD - Cosmonaut

The students of the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy in Sibiu had the honor of meeting Lt.gl. (ret.) eng. Dumitru Dorin Prunariu, PhD - Cosmonaut during the events hosted by Media? Town Hall, in collaboration with the military structures of Medias garrison and the National Museum of Romanian Aviation, "Hermann Oberth" branch, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the first and only flight of a Romanian citizen in the cosmic space and the 127th birth anniversary of Hermann Oberth.

The event took place in Medias, where gl. Prunariu met with old collaborators and friends, in a touching environment: "The relations with real people have always been special memories that I have treasured".

The speeches included recalling the personality of the great scientist Hermann Oberth and the achievements of the cosmonaut Dumitru Prunariu who stated that the beginning of his career represented a challenge, most of the people considering his youth as an impediment for the mission to come: "many people said I was too young but I considered it an opportunity to prove more". At almost 69, Dumitru Prunariu is still dedicated to the study of the cosmic space, nationally and internationally, being an ambassador of Romania in the international specialized forums and a source of inspiration for the young Romanians and not only.
