A delegation of the “Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy in Sibiu, led by BG Prof.Eng. Ghita Barsan, PhD participated in the 8th edition of the International Military Academic Forum (iMAF 2021) in September 20-24. The event was hosted by the Military Academy in Lisbon, Portugal, and was attended by over 70 participants from 16 European countries, representing 30 military higher education institutions.
The main purpose of this event was to improve, develop and explore synergies of the European military education systems, in terms of training young officers, through a transparent and effective dialogue.
During this meeting, it was reiterated once again the importance of cooperation between military higher education institutions in the European Union, by organizing international semesters, training modules or other types of activities with international participation, through which military students acquire skills and abilities to better prepare them for positions that involve working in an international environment.
During the closing ceremony of iMAF, the commander of the “Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy in Sibiu symbolically took over the organization of the next edition of the International Military Academic Forum 2022, which will take place in Sibiu in June, 12-15, 2022.
