Within the French Language Scientific Circle of the Nicolae Bălcescu Land Forces Academy, coordinated by Assist. Prof. Daniela Duralia, PhD, the academy's cadets had the opportunity to celebrate, on March 20, the International Francophonie Day. The event was honoured by the presence of Ms. Léa Euvrard, French language teacher and representative of the French association AGIRabcd and a collaborator of the Directorate for Cooperation for Security and Defense within the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Also, Maxime Elisabeth, a French student and representative of the University of Limoges, France, on Erasmus+ mobility at the academy, complemented by Ms. Euvrard's presentation by highlighting some particularities of Francophone culture specific to his home region.
Thus, the students present had the opportunity to witness the dialogue between the two French natives and to engage in debates on Francophone culture and the use of the French language on the five continents, especially in Romania. The discussions emphasized linguistic diversity in the current context of la Francophonie. At the same time, Ms. Euvrard highlighted a series of arguments to stimulate students' interest and motivation to learn the French language.
The event ended with a competition in which Cadet Luca Sebastian, a third-year student at IMDCM, provided the correct answers and was designated the winner.
