NATO Day in Romania Celebrated at the Land Forces Academy

Today, April 6, students of “Nicolae Bălcescu” Land Forces Academy in Sibiu took part in a ceremony held on the institution’s parade ground to mark NATO Day in Romania.

On March 29, 2004, Romania officially joined NATO by depositing its instruments of ratification, and on April 2 of the same year, the Romanian flag was raised at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

According to Law No. 390 of September 28, 2004, NATO Day is celebrated annually in Romania on the first Sunday of April.

The event included the performance of the national anthems and the raising of both the Romanian National Flag and the NATO Flag. A speech followed, highlighting the significance of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the North Atlantic Alliance and the 21st anniversary of Romania’s accession to the world’s most powerful security organization. The address emphasized NATO’s role in protecting the core values of democracy and ensuring the security of its members across the globe.

Happy NATO Day, Romania!

Happy Anniversary to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization!
