April 23 – Romanian Land Forces Day

Today, April 23, marks 166 years since the establishment of the Romanian Land Forces, whose spiritual patron and protector is St George the Great Martyr – Bearer of Victory.

This day is a powerful reminder of both the heroic deeds of Romanian soldiers who gave their lives on the battlefield in defense of our national identity and independence, and the dedication of today’s servicemen and women who, deployed in operational theaters, carry out missions to ensure security and stability in their assigned areas of responsibility.

The celebrations began on the Academy’s parade ground, where a festive ceremony included anniversary messages, as well as the reading of promotion and military decoration orders awarded to some of our colleagues. The events continued at the “Monument to the Soldier of All Times,” located in front of the Military Circle in Sibiu, with a military ceremony honoring this anniversary.

Happy Land Forces Day to all those who serve under the battle flags of this essential military branch!

Warmest wishes to the Romanian Land Forces on this significant occasion!
